We are delighted to announce that, subject to the usual clearances being satisfactory, the Rev'd Phillip Chew currently Rector of Llanbedr DC and Area Dean of the Vale of Clwyd will be appointed as Vicar of the Joint Benefice of St Michaels Weeton St Matthew Ballam and St Nicholas Ribby with Wrea

A date for his induction service will be announced in due course.

A few extra facts about our new Vicar

  • He was born and grew up in Lancashire and his first Curacy was in Chorley at St Lawrence
  • He was Ordained at Blackburn Cathedral in 1998
  • He served as Vicar in both Burnley and the Feniscliffe area of Blackburn before moving to North Wales about 9 years ago.
  • He is married with 2 daughters one of whom lives in Bispham
  • A former Chorister at Blackburn Cathedral he is still actively involved in Music
  • He is also the Diocesan Advocate for 2020 Vision which is the Church in Wales' strategy for growth and engagement, which is similar to Vision 2026 in our diocese.
  • He is currently responsible as Rector for 5 parish churches and as Area Dean for 13 churches.
